Russotti’s Italian Hot Dogs (Cotati Farmers Market)

Justin Russotti has a beeyootiful hot dog cart at the Thursday evening Cotati farmers market (May to September) offering “Italian Hot Dogs”. I asked him what was Italian about them, and he explained that he adds garlic sauce.

His hot dog of choice is Miller’s with a natural casing, but he was using a different brand the night I tried one. The jumbo hot dog ($3.50) was grilled and then topped with a muffaletta-style olive and garlic salad from New Orleans. You can add more condiments; for me, a little mustard and pickle relish to add some tanginess. This is a great concept; the combination of flavors is absolutely fantastic. Jumbo Italian hot dog -
